What/Who is MercyMe?
There are many, many people in this wide world who know what/who MercyMe is and many, many more who don’t have a clue.
With their most recent album, Lifer, sitting atop the charts, now is the time to discover MercyMe if you haven’t already. They are a contemporary Christian/indie rock/worship amalgamation of styles. As such, they may be a bit fast and funky for some older folks but their message is absolutely genuine and appealing to many of the younger generation. That, in itself, makes MercyMe valuable in Christian ministry.

Here is the video of their performance. While the improvised audio setup is inferior to the full studio version, the fact that they were selected and given the opportunity to deliver the thought provoking message of this song to so many of our nation’s top officials is encouraging to me.
Lifer, The Album
The core of LIFER is the question of what it looks like to live as followers of Christ that are committed for life. With 2014’s Welcome To The New, MercyMe spoke to the grace and celebrated new life that Christ offers us in entering into faith. With their newest record, MercyMe writes about what it means to live out that faith as a “lifer” in the kingdom of God. (by themcollective.com)
It is worth interjecting a look at the hit song Flawless from the 2014 album Welcome to the New. This video certainly has a fascinating way to make it’s point visually as well as in song.
